The Lab

An AI Development Laboratory,
run by humans who've shipped before

This is where the DNA line is made.

Most AI development stories are about the AI. Ours is about the humans directing it. The Lab is a working studio where a disciplined, written method meets modern AI — and the output is real software that real businesses run on.

How the Lab works

The method is the machine

Everything in the Lab follows the same discipline, drawn from our written philosophy, Project Success Ensurance. AI makes each step faster — it never replaces a step.

STRUCTURE FIRST

A complete definition before any build

Work is defined top to bottom — end-to-end processes, user stories, acceptance criteria — before a line of code. The definition is the contract the AI builds against, and the test the result must pass.

AI AS A TEAM MEMBER

Directed, never autonomous

AI drafts code, reviews designs, categorizes data, checks quality — inside acceptance criteria set by a human. One AI proposes; another challenges; a person decides.

VERIFY EVERYTHING

Measured, not assumed

"Done" is checked against the system of record, every time. Counts must match the click-through. If the number looks odd, we investigate until it isn't — a round number is a signal, not a coincidence.

HONEST DELIVERY

Targets, not guarantees

Status is reported in facts before framing. Baselines are frozen and measured against. When something isn't built yet, it says so plainly — no dead links, no vaporware.

The toolbench

What's on the bench

The Lab runs on a mix of frontier AI and our own infrastructure.

Claude

Our primary AI partner for design, build and review work across the whole DNA line. Proudly assisted by Claude — we say it on every product.

Local AI models

Our own on-premises AI hardware trains and runs specialized local models — including a coder model trained on our modernization work — keeping sensitive workloads in-house.

AskDNA

Our in-product assistant: it answers questions from your own project data — scoped to what you're allowed to see, with links to the exact records it used.

The economics are the quiet revolution. The Lab's discipline used to take teams of people to maintain. AI doesn't change what ensures success — it collapses the cost of doing it properly.
The philosophy

Project Success Ensurance

Fifty years of delivery distilled into ten components every successful project shares — from a vision everyone can repeat, through a fully detailed work breakdown, to a roadmap reviewed every week. It's the written method behind every DNA application, and the reason the suite is called EnsuranceDNA: success isn't insured after the fact, it's ensured from the start.

The ten components, in one breath:
Vision · Measurable objectives · Named constraints · One set of numbers · the detailed WBS · a real team · one accountable name per activity · deliberate scheduling · working sessions · a living roadmap.
